When I was small, I misheard and thought 'cuttlefish' were called 'cuddlefish', because of how squishy and huggable they look. I was very vindicated to learn as an adult that one of the etymologies of 'cuttle' is the Old Norse for 'koddi' which means 'cushion'. Source
